On Saturday, November 15, we will let the Christmas feeling arrive in Falun's coziest studio!
During a full day we enjoy candlelight, mulled wine and gingerbread, while creating for Christmas and the approaching Advent!
In the morning you will have the opportunity to create your own ceramic candlestick!
We roll and decorate with any pattern of lace, letters, leaves or twigs. (If you have your own idea, it's free to bring - maybe grandma's beautiful lace cloth can be used and immortalized in your own unique candlestick...)
After a lunch break (where you either wedge off to one of the nearby restaurants or bring something of your own to eat, microphones are available on site) we set about creating the most beautiful mistletoe twig using crêpe paper and beads.
No prior knowledge is required - I will be there to guide you through all the steps during the day.

13.30-16; PAPER FLOWERS (Mistletoe)
When the day is over, take your mistletoe home with you. The candle barrel will be left for glazing and firing, but is ready for pickup at the latest to Lucia.
The price includes a light “Advent” buffet with mulled wine, gingerbread and other “Christmas” goodies.

- tutorial and materials for 1 candle barrel and a mistletoe branch:
(clay, glaze, crêpe paper, floral wire, glue, beads and floral tape, and tools)
- glazing and 2 burnings of the candle barrel

Please include your own material if you have your own idea of what you want to roll out as a pattern in the candlestick.
In the event of fewer than 5 entries, the event will be cancelled and the fee will be refunded in full. This will be announced no later than one week before the event.
Have you ever felt the frustration that time never seems to be enough, and that what gets stepped on is always what you really want to do, what makes you feel your best and energizes you?
I have always felt at my best when I got to be creative and create in different forms - painting, drawing, singing, writing, cultivating, decorating, baking, sculpting... Still, these are the things that usually end up last on my list of priorities for a large part of my adult life, and I think there are too many with me.
However, during a “try-on-night” in clay in 2017, something was awakened in me - partly I found clay as a material, but also a realization that I needed to give space to my creative needs in order to feel good. I came home with a sense of satisfaction that I had not felt for a long time, and decided there and then to get my own ceramic kiln. The fact that clay became the medium of creation was thus more or less a coincidence, although it has always appealed to me because it is both versatile and wayward.
One gave way to the other, and after 25 years as a teacher, in autumn 2019 I made the leap and started Made by Pihl, with the vision to make room for that creative power for myself as well as for others.
My goal is to create sustainable and unique utility products and art for the design and quality conscious, and at the same time inspire and give space for more people to create for themselves.
